We’re delighted to announce that Avocet Court Care Home in Ipswich, will be launching a new Singing for the Brain session from August 2024!
Singing for the Brain is an initiative from the Alzheimer’s Society to bring together local people affected by dementia. We’ll sing a variety of songs during the session, all of which our visitors will know and love, in a fun and friendly environment. We’ll also do vocal exercises that help improve brain activity and wellbeing.
Our new sessions are designed to utilise socialising as a way to stimulate the mind and lift spirits.
Hayley Halsell, Hospitality Services Manager at Avocet Courtl, said, “I’m delighted to be able to support the launch of this unique activity for those within our community living with dementia and their loved ones.”
The sessions will launch on Saturday 10th August and run from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. There’s no commitment to stay for the whole session though. The sessions are designed with breaks so that people can come and go as they please.
After this first session the group will reconvene on the fourth Saturday of each month starting on the 28th September and will run from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. There’s no need to book and there’s no charge for the session.
If you have any questions about the session, please don’t hesitate to call us directly on 01473 943042.
