As Christmas gets ever closer, Alex Wood House Care Home in Cambridge is gearing up to spread festive cheer with great free community-focused Christmas events.
Known for its commitment to fostering connections and inclusivity, Alex Wood House invites neighbours, families, and friends to join in these activities that promise to warm hearts and strengthen community bonds.
The home is proudly sponsoring the Arbury Court Christmas tree this year and residents and families will be taking part in the big Switch On event on December 11th, starting 3.30pm. The Mayor of Cambridge will flick the switch, aided by a member of the Alex Wood family.
Customer Relationship Manager Amber Christou said, “We are pleased to sponsor the Christmas tree at Arbury Court and our residents are very excited about the switch on event which we will be walking down to from Alex Wood House.
“At Alex Wood House we are proud to be a big part of the Arbury community and look forward to sharing this event with our neighbours in the area.”
Amber added that the Alex Wood House kitchen team will be providing soup and non-alcoholic mulled wine for people attending the free event, which is sure to start the countdown to Christmas in style.
The following day – Thursday December 12th – Santa and his reindeer move along to Alex Wood House in Fortescue Road for the home’s own Christmas Fayre from 3.30pm until 6.30pm.
Residents are already busy preparing decorations for the home and there will be craft stalls, refreshments and lots more – with all proceeds in aid of CPSL Mind.
These events reflect Alex Wood House’s ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming local space for people to come together. Whether you attend as a participant or a volunteer, these events are an excellent way to celebrate the season of giving and connect with the people who make Cambridge such a vibrant and caring community.
