Langdon House opened its doors to friends, families and members of the local community for a truly memorable Burns Night celebration. Guests were welcomed by the stirring sound of a traditional piper, while two beautiful Highland cows from Crazy Critters, added a touch of countryside charm to the occasion.
Residents and visitors enjoyed arts and crafts activities, plenty of traditional shortbread, and the chance to socialise and celebrate together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Just down the road, residents at Alex Wood House enjoyed a classic Scottish lunch featuring haggis, neeps and tatties. The celebrations continued in the kitchen, where carers and residents worked side by side to bake traditional shortbread biscuits, sharing laughter, memories and the simple joy of baking together.
At Aria Court, residents took a cultural journey through the life and works of Robert Burns, listening to poems and learning more about Scotland’s national bard.
The culinary team then treated everyone to a delicious afternoon spread, including mini haggis pies, oatcakes, scones, Scottish jam and clotted cream. Residents also rolled up their sleeves to make their own shortbread biscuits, making the day both educational and hands-on.
Ashlynn Grange was alive with music as residents enjoyed a live performance from The Singing Gardener, who embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up for the occasion.
An afternoon tea featuring homemade shortbread cookies and a generous buffet of treats was served, while creative activities brought residents, friends and families together to celebrate Burns Night in a fun and inclusive way.
At Avocet Court, the lifestyle co-ordinator created a truly memorable day filled with Scottish songs, poetry and, of course, haggis served with a rich whisky sauce. Residents even enjoyed a wee dram together, raising a toast to Robert Burns and the shared joy of the celebration.
Goodwins Hall embraced the occasion with traditional Scottish music and a special lunch featuring haggis and other Scottish favourites, bringing warmth and cultural connection to residents throughout the day.
