Alex Wood House in Cambridge has donated more than £200 to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), a gesture which marks the start of a growing relationship between the two organisations.
The funds were raised by the care home team at the Arbury Carnival where residents and visitors participated in a lively tombola stall.
Helena Davis, the Community Fundraiser for EACH, extended an invitation for a tour of the hospice facilities, which provided an insightful glimpse into the vital services and care EACH provides to local children and their families.
The tour highlighted the sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pools, and the serene sensory garden, all designed to offer comfort and therapeutic support to young patients.
Customer Relationship Manager at Alex Wood House Amber Christou said, “I was completely blown away by the beauty, warmth, and hospitality of everyone at EACH. The dedication and compassion of the hospice team is truly inspiring. The work they do is invaluable, and we are committed to supporting their amazing service moving forward.”
Looking ahead, Alex Wood House plans to continue its fundraising efforts for EACH. A winter fayre, which promises to be a festive occasion complete with reindeers, is already planned for early December.
“We are excited about the possibilities this partnership holds,” added Amber, “We will be exploring more ways to support EACH. Helena is also scheduled to visit Alex Wood House to meet our residents and talk about the work the hospice does, which we are all looking forward to.”
