Respite care is a short-term residential stay designed to provide professional support for an elderly individual while offering their primary caregiver a well-earned break.
Residential respite care usually involves a short stay to allow carers and support networks a chance to recharge their batteries and take a few days for themselves. If you’re a full-time carer, we know how important it is to take time for yourself. Having some well-deserved time away can benefit you, and you can take a break knowing your loved one is in safe hands.
We offer short stay respite care services at all seven of our care homes across East Anglia, providing safe, enjoyable and relaxing stays for loved ones. Those in our short stay care have all of the same facilities available as our permanent residents.
Residents staying for respite care can expect:
- Fully furnished accommodation
- Personal care and daily support
- Access to meals, activities and facilities
- Assistance with medication
- Social interaction and companionship
- A safe environment during recovery or temporary care needs
- Continuity of care during a carer’s absence
Respite residents are integrated into the home’s daily life and activities, helping them feel comfortable and supported throughout their stay.
We are often asked if laundry, ironing, bedding and towels are included and these are all things which we provide.
When you stay at one of our care homes it’s our family caring for yours. We make sure that our care is focused on each person, developing wellbeing and making sure we get to know your individuality. With delicious food and a great variety of activities, we’re excited to welcome everyone for short term stays.
As a care provider, our carers and staff do everything they can to welcome those needing short term care services into our home and make them part of our family. There is a full schedule of fun-filled activities to join in with, and a brilliant social atmosphere where you can meet new friends and people of similar ages and interests. Short term respite care is also a great way to experience our homes, if you’re thinking about becoming a permanent resident.
We all need a break from time to time, whether that’s to recharge our batteries or just to take a few days for ourselves. That’s precisely why we offer respite care for elderly people.
We also know it’s really important to be able to plan holidays in advance. You don’t need to leave it to the last minute to book a stay with us, so please get in touch with us and we can discuss availability in advance.
Unlike residential or nursing care, respite care is intended to be temporary.
The level of care provided can vary depending on individual needs and may include residential, nursing or dementia support during the stay.
Respite care is particularly valuable for family carers who need a break while ensuring their loved one receives professional care.
