Situated in a residential nook in Ipswich, our 115-bedroom care home has beautiful gardens, as well as a newly refurbished café that is the heart of our home. Our activities team are award-winning, we have great sustainability credentials with our solar panels and green initiatives and we pride ourselves on our award of accreditation for End-of-Life Care from St Elizabeth Hospice.
Avocet Court care home has an award-winning activities team who produce many different types of creative activities and entertainment for their residents. Every day there is something to get stuck into, whether its arts and crafts or watching a live performance. If you’re looking to make new friends, there are many clubs to choose from – with some residents even set up their own. If you’re a bingo lover, there’s always a game to play, but if cooking is more your thing, Avocet Court has many recipe ideas. One to one activities are on offer too, and we also schedule regular visits, calls or video chats for friends and relatives that are far away. Our kitchen team cook up a storm each day, providing meals suited to all of our residents. From tasty roast dinners to modified meals fit to suit all dietary requirements, our kitchen teams work all day and all week to provide delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts to all within the home. For special celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries, our kitchen teams provide fresh cakes for all to enjoy. Providing nutritional balance within their tasty meals is something our kitchen prides themselves on, and we can’t wait for you to taste and see.
Kim has worked in health and social care for nearly 30 years. Her career started in learning disabilities, then domiciliary care, before eventually becoming a Registered Manager. With experience in working as a Quality Manager and a Regional Support Manager, Kim continued her career journey to working as a Registered Manager in care and nursing homes. Kim loves her job and balances that with spending time with her two beautiful grandchildren and family. Animals are also a passion of Kim’s and she has 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats!

At Avocet Court it is always our priority to protect those who live and work within our home. We have strict infection control procedures in place for when any infectious disease strikes.
