Rehabilitation care allows those who have undergone surgery to be cared for whilst recovering; this could be a knee or hip replacement, or something more complex. If staying with us and receiving this type of care, the stay usually lasts only a couple of weeks until you have recovered enough to be able to look after yourself once again.
At Athena, we provide rehabilitation care at Amberley Hall and Avocet Court. Amberley Hall boasts a dedicated 20-bed rehabilitation unit contracted to Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group. Residents admitted to this unit usually stay for around two weeks. During this time, they have regular access to physiotherapy and occupational health. The aim is for residents to achieve goals, enabling them to return to their own home as independently as possible. We have many different types of equipment that will help your loved one get on the mend, and not having to worry about their next meal or household chores means that they can recover in peace. GP’s, Hospitals, Social Workers and Community Matrons usually make referrals to our rehabilitation care.
