A warm and meaningful new partnership has begun between Aria Court care home in March and the local March Rotary Club, marked by a fantastic celebration held in honour of VE Day.
Residents and the care team at Aria Court were recently treated to a truly special afternoon tea, organised and hosted by the March Rotary Club. The event was full of colour and cheer, with the care home’s garden beautifully decorated in Union Jack bunting and flags. The day’s festivities included a moving church service in the morning, reflecting on the sacrifices made during the war and honouring both veterans and those who serve today.
March Rotary Club approached Aria Court with the idea of hosting an afternoon tea for the residents. While it wasn’t initially planned around VE Day, the timing made it a perfect opportunity for a commemorative celebration.
The Rotary Club generously covered the cost of the afternoon tea, arranged live entertainment through 20Twenty Productions, and even brought along a stunning selection of classic cars, much to the delight of residents and guests alike.
The event was a great success, with everyone enjoying the atmosphere, music, and vintage car display.
Aria Court’s Customer Relationship Manager, Amber Christou, shared her gratitude:
“We were delighted to hold this event with the Rotary Club – it was a great day here at Aria Court which our residents loved. We are always keen to welcome new groups and visitors to our home and look forward to doing more with the Rotary Club in the near future.”
With such a positive start to this relationship, Aria Court is now looking forward to continuing the connection with the Rotary Club. Plans are underway to explore future collaborations, whether through volunteering, fundraising for local causes, using the on-site café at Aria Court, or inviting Rotary Club members for lunch visits.
This VE Day celebration marked more than just a commemoration – it signified the beginning of a new community partnership filled with growing friendships and shared purpose.
