To celebrate the National Activities Provider Awards 2020, the red carpet was laid out at Avocet Court. Our teams across all homes had tuned in, and got dressed up ready for the evening’s virtual awards ceremony.
Many of the UK’s leading care home groups were in the running, meaning competition was stiff. Athena were proud to have 3 of it’s amazing team members up for the chance to win. Nominations also included Steve Thorne & Marion Tyers from Aria Court.
Simone, accompanied by team member Lauren, were all dressed up with a bottle of bubbly at the ready, eager to hear the results.
After a fantastic selection of entertainment, from belly dancers to musical theatre students, it was finally time for the awards. Simone was announed the winner of the Best Activities Provider by NAPA, and we were all so proud of her! She was sent an award by post, and gifted with a bottle of bubbly and chocolates by our Managing Director, Mala Agarwal.
It’s so important for our homes to have an engaging, lively and fun activities team. It’s especially essential this year, to aid our resident’s mental wellbeing during these hard times.
