Athena Care Homes is thrilled to announce its victory at the Great British Care Awards, where we proudly received the East of England regional award for Workforce Development.
This prestigious accolade underscores our commitment to nurturing a skilled, motivated, and passionate workforce dedicated to delivering outstanding care across our family of homes.
The Workforce Development Award recognises the critical importance of workforce development in the care sector, honouring organisations that demonstrate excellence in identifying and meeting the training needs of their care teams.
This award is a testament to Athena’s pursuit of growth and innovation. Through the establishment of dynamic training programmes, securing funding for continuous education, and fostering an environment that encourages team members to enhance their skills, Athena Care Homes ensures that its teams remain prepared and inspired to deliver high-quality care.
Athena’s Avocet Court care home in Ipswich was highly commended at the same awards ceremony for the work done at the Ipswich home in End of Life/Palliative care. This award rewards compassionate, dignified, and professional care to those residents at the end of life.
Palliative and end-of-life care requires a special kind of care, not just medical and emotional support to the resident but also support to families and friends during such a challenging time as well as support to the care team and others at the homes who form lasting bonds with residents and their families.
These achievements reflect Athena’s enduring dedication to supporting team members, empowering them to reach their full potential, and ultimately enriching the lives of the residents we serve.
Thank you to the Great British Care Awards for this recognition, and congratulations to all the Athena Care Homes teams for their dedication and passion. We will now go on to represent the East of England for Workforce Development in the national finals of the Great British Care Awards in March 2025.
