Residents of Langdon House care home are feeling the warmth of the festive season a little earlier this year, thanks to Dunelm’s heartwarming Christmas campaign, Delivering Joy.
Through this initiative, Langdon House residents are set to receive thoughtful gifts, fulfilling their small yet meaningful Christmas wishes, bringing smiles and comfort during the festive season.
At Langdon House, Receptionist Trudee and Lifestyles team member Kat played a key role in the campaign by talking to our residents and filling out the gift tags on their behalf, noting down their personal wishes. These ranged from practical items to special comforts, including knitting yarn, bed socks, pink lipstick, and even simple seasonal treats like shortbread.
While all residents typically receive gifts during the festive period, the generosity of Dunelm’s initiative ensures that every individual has the chance to receive something uniquely personal to them.
Home Manager Beverley Murray expressed her gratitude for the support Langdon House residents have received, saying, “People didn’t ask for a lot and it’s really heartwarming that members of the local Cambridge community get involved and buy these gifts. Of course, all our residents get gifts at Christmas, but some receive less than others – and who doesn’t love an extra gift?”
The Dunelm Delivering Joy campaign has provided an opportunity for the local community to come together and make a difference, and the impact of these simple, thoughtful gifts is much appreciated by the residents of Langdon House. Whether it’s a small luxury or a much-needed item, these presents represent the kindness of strangers, which means a lot at any time, but especially during the festive season.
Customers can pick up a tag from a Delivering Joy tree located in-store, with each tag detailing a specific gift request from a local community member. The gift is then purchased, returned to the store, and delivered to the recipient before Christmas. The initiative demonstrates the joy of giving and shows how businesses and communities can come together to bring a little bit of festive magic and warmth.
