On 29 January, Amberley Hall proudly celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of care, community, and cherished memories. The milestone was celebrated in the Home’s café with residents, friends, families, and members of the local community all invited to join the festivities.
The celebration was made even more special by recognising the Home’s longest-serving resident, who has been living at Amberley Hall since it first opened its doors 20 years ago, a remarkable journey that perfectly reflects the sense of home and continuity Amberley Hall provides.
The event brought together a wonderful mix of people, including some who arrived simply to visit a loved one and unexpectedly found themselves part of a party. One visitor commented that she had come to see her friend and ended up staying for the afternoon celebrations, describing it as a welcome surprise filled with entertainment and fun.
The event truly reflected Amberley Hall’s strong connection with the local community. Local ambulance crews and NHS therapists who were visiting residents on the day were also invited to enjoy food from the beautifully prepared buffet, adding to the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
The theme for the afternoon was “Dress to Impress – Casino Royale”, with a blackjack table and roulette wheel taking centre stage. Many residents, some of whom had never experienced anything like it before, were quick to get involved. Playing for fun, residents competed to win the highest amount of “casino money,” which could be exchanged for prizes including a bottle of wine and a hamper box.
Entertainment for the afternoon was provided by local singer Emily Blake, whose live performance brought the party to life and had everyone thoroughly enjoying the celebrations.
The afternoon concluded with a heartfelt celebration of the Amberley Hall team. Staff members were recognised with long-service awards, ranging from five years to an incredible nineteen years of service. Each achievement was celebrated, reflecting Athena Care Homes’ core values of “making moments together” and “celebrating every individual.”
The 20th anniversary of Amberley Hall was not only a celebration of the past but a joyful reminder of the strong relationships, dedication, and community spirit that continue to define life at the home.
