In the run up to Valentine’s Day this year, we’ve been asking our residents about the things and people they love.
First up are Hazel and husband Graham, who will be celebrating the most romantic day of the year with a delicious lunch at Ashlynn Grange Care Home.
The fantastic team at our Peterborough care home will be making sure that couples like Hazel and Graham can celebrate St Valentine and make special memories. They will be sharing a romantic meal with a themed menu prepared by head chef Mark in our beautiful café area.
The couple first met at the Reading Salvation Army. Graham was in the army and a part of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Military Band as Principal on Euphonium.
Hazel was working as a nurse at Whipps Cross Hospital in east London at the time. The pair had a two-year courtship before they were married.
Their wedding took place at Walthamstow Citadel and they have been married 62 years having two daughters during that time.
Graham visits every day and was delighted to be invited to the Valentine’s meal.
