A gondola ride, a caprese skewer and a tiramisu – what else could you ask for on a day trip to Italy?
Our residents at Amberley Hall Care Home, in Norfolk, went on an adventure as the home was transported to Italy for the day.
Through our armchair travel programme, we like to take residents on the journeys they have dreamt of their whole lives without leaving the comfort of their homes.
We bring the tastes, sights, culture and music of our chosen locations to our homes.
For some, it is a chance to experience countries they have never visited, and for others it is a reminder of the adventures they have been on with loved ones and friends in years gone by.
At Amberley Hall, the kitchen teams created a three-course menu for the latest trip to Italy, comprising caprese salad skewers, seafood linguine and tiramisu – plus a choice of a chilled glass of Italian white or a rich, full-bodied red wine to accompany the meal.
As dinner was served memories of those trips flood back and our teams were warmed by the stories of family holidays, romantic trips and beach days spent with friends.
The King’s Lynn home has also taken residents to France recently while Aria Court Care Home, in Fenland, will be taking residents to London next week in celebration of the King’s Coronation.
