We’d like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to a valued member of the Laindon Office team: HR Advisor, Natalie Walker.
Natalie has been with Athena Care Homes for the past two years, and during this time, she has played an essential role in supporting our sponsored nurses and carers, who currently make up around 150 team members.
Natalie’s dedication shines through in everything she does. From assisting with applying for Home Office visas and onboarding queries to making sure our team members arrive safely and are well looked after from day one, her commitment has been unwavering.
For many of our sponsored team members—who come from countries such as Nigeria, India, and the Philippines—this journey is not just about a new job; it’s about starting a new chapter in life, sometimes leaving home for the very first time. Natalie helps ease this transition, often going above and beyond to assist with accommodation and other concerns, making sure that they feel welcomed and supported.
Her compassionate approach has had a profound impact. We frequently receive positive feedback from our new colleagues about how much they appreciate Natalie’s support. She has a remarkable way of making everyone feel like part of the Athena family from the moment they join us, and this makes all the difference as they settle into their new roles and surroundings.
Human Resources Director, Amanda Hardy, presented Natalie with flowers and a thank-you card to recognise her outstanding efforts. Amanda shared, “We get such a lot of positive feedback about the help and support given by Natalie to new sponsored team members coming from overseas to work with us at Athena Care Homes.
“Natalie helps to make them feel part of the family from day one, and the flowers and card come from myself, the home managers, and our sponsored team members just to say thank you, Natalie.”
