Earlier in the year, our residents and team at Goodwins Hall set up some unique fundraising events as part of their Care Home Open Week celebrations!
Lucy and Katie, from our Learning and Development team, were excellent sports and took on a pie to the face challenge – answering progressively harder questions from our residents and receiving a pie to the face for any incorrect answers.
The outcome of the day was over £1,400 raised for the Care Workers’ Charity and the National Activities Providers Association. Both of the charities were delighted with the totals.
The Care Workers’ Charity also held a small competition and they randomly selected a winning care home out of all the fundraisers who joined in with Care Home Open Week. Goodwins was selected as the winner and the residents and team received some lovely hampers as a thank you for their hard work!
Learning and Development Manager, Lucy Hoddy, said, “It’s fantastic to receive the completely unexpected hampers. There’s lots of goodies, games and more for our residents to enjoy!”
We look forward to continuing to supporting both the Care Workers’ Charity and NAPA with their efforts over the coming years.
