Athena Care Homes celebrated a vibrant and engaging Care Home Open Week, creating memorable experiences and fostering stronger connections between residents, colleagues, families and the local community.
The events, held across our family of seven homes in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Norfolk, showcased the exceptional care we provide and the meaningful relationships we build within our neighbourhoods as well as the enthusiasm and ingenuity or our teams in planning and making these special events come to life.
Community engagement at its best
The aim of Care Home Open Week, which takes place annually at the end of June, is to show how the lives of our residents are enriched daily by inviting community members to meet them and the dedicated professionals who care for them.
Through a variety of special activities and events, we demonstrated that our care homes are not only places of excellent care but also hubs of community connection.
Athena Chief Operating Officer Mandy Cockram said, “We always have a lot going on at Athena but It was exciting to see the plans coming together in the run up to Care Home Open Week with most of our homes planning several different events to appeal to a number of audiences.
“We couldn’t have asked for more during the week itself, such a lot of enthusiasm and the great weather helped as we could spend time in our lovely grounds. I want to thank everyone who was involved in making the week a great success for Athena. Events were well attended by invited guests, friends, families and members of our local communities – but most importantly our residents had a great week.”
