Christmas cheer was in full swing across Athena Care Homes, as residents and teams came together to take part in our festive “Let’s Make Magic Happen” Christmas Display Competition.
The competition invited every Athena home to co-produce a special Christmas display alongside residents, bringing creativity, collaboration and festive joy to life. The aim was simple but meaningful: to create a joyful and welcoming space that residents could be proud of, enjoy every day, and share with visiting family and friends.
Residents played an active role in shaping each display, from planning and crafting to adding personal touches inspired by their own memories and traditions. These festive spaces were designed to feel warm, nostalgic and full of personality, perfect for entertaining loved ones, capturing magical Christmas photos, and creating new memories together.
The ideas were as imaginative as they were heart-warming. Homes transformed their spaces into enchanting Winter Wonderlands, traditional Christmas scenes, and nostalgic displays inspired by Christmases past, many featuring handmade decorations created by residents themselves.
The response across Athena Care Homes was fantastic, with every home taking part and showcasing the incredible creativity and community spirit that defines life at Athena. Choosing a winner was no easy task, but the winning home received an Amazon voucher to reinvest into activities for residents, ensuring the festive fun continues well beyond Christmas.
