Arthur reunites with his beloved classic cars
For Arthur, the chance to see some very familiar vehicles again was a dream come true. As a former chairman of the Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiasts Club, Arthur has always had a deep passion for cars and a strong connection to the club.
Knowing how much this part of his life meant to him, the Avocet Court team arranged a special reunion, inviting members of the Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiasts Club to bring their cars to the home.
Arthur spent time reminiscing, sharing stories and talking about the vehicles, while club members enjoyed reconnecting with their former chairman. The visit was a heart-warming reminder of how powerful it can be for residents to reconnect with the people, hobbies and memories that have shaped their lives.
Roger enjoys his first Harley-Davidson motorbike ride
Roger’s wish was to experience the thrill of a motorcycle ride, something he had never had the opportunity to do before. With support from the Suffolk Biker Family, his wish became a reality.
Roger was treated to a ride down to Shotley on a Harley-Davidson, accompanied by his daughter. For Roger, the experience was about more than the motorcycle itself. It was a chance to try something new, enjoy the excitement of the open road and create a special memory with his loved one.
Mary reconnects with her lifelong love of horses
Mary’s wish was inspired by her lifelong love of horses. She previously owned two Arabian horses, one grey and one chestnut, and enjoyed endurance riding and boundary rides across the countryside.
When Mary expressed a wish to see horses again, the Avocet Court team arranged for horses to visit the home.
This meant Mary could enjoy a wonderful encounter without having to travel, making the experience comfortable, personal and memorable.
Seeing Mary’s reaction as the horses arrived was a special moment for everyone involved. It gave her the chance to reconnect with a much-loved part of her past and share stories with those around her.
