At Goodwins Hall in Kings Lynn, our residents and our team members recently welcomed the representatives from their local church for a fantastic Harvest Festival.
Father Adrian from All Saints Church on Church Lane, supported us with a lovely service, which all of our residents thoroughly enjoyed.
Tom and Lee, from our Maintenance and Gardening team, supported the event by working with our residents to harvest the fantastic vegetables from our gardens and their own personal allotments. Tom’s wife, Michelle, also baked some delicious home made bread. Plus, we received generous donations from our resident’s friends and family.
Flavia Hansell, our Home Manager at Goodwins Hall, said, “It was fantastic to complete the harvest from our gardens for this special festival. Our residents, supported by our team, have worked so hard throughout the year growing beautiful fruits and vegetables. They’ve done such a good job they’ve been specially recognised in Athena Care Homes’ gardening competition, as well as an assortment of local horticultural shows too! This service was the perfect way to wrap up the summer.”
All of the produce and donated items were handed to the Eastgate Academy’s food bank to continue our support of our local community.
