If you went down to the woods today, you might expect to find three little pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and even Wally hiding among the trees.
But at Langdon House Care Home, these much-loved storybook characters appeared somewhere even more magical, right in the middle of their World Book Day celebration.
A Day of Storytelling, Laughter and Imagination
Residents at Langdon House enjoyed a wonderful day dedicated to the joy of books and storytelling. Staff members fully embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up as famous literary characters, transforming the care home into a colourful world of fairy tales and adventure.
The costumes brought huge smiles to residents’ faces as beloved characters from childhood stories suddenly appeared before them.
A Special Guest Narrator
Adding to the magic of the day, Jonathan, a local actor, joined the celebrations as the narrator for the storytelling session.
His lively storytelling and dramatic delivery had residents laughing throughout the performance, with many saying they couldn’t quite believe what they were seeing as their favourite characters came to life around them.
