This August we wanted to bring summer holidays to our care homes. Each of our homes ‘booked’ their destinations and set off on an Armchair Travel day with their residents. We wanted to experience new cultures and cuisines and with trips from Italy to Vegas, we had a fantastic array of destinations.
Here’s where your local home headed on their trip:
Aria Court Care Home
At Aria Court in March, Cambridgeshire, our residents headed off to Italy!
With boarding and a simulated flight before taking in the arts, making our own mini pizzas and, of course, an indulgent gelato, our residents had a fantastic time.
Ashlynn Grange Care Home
italy was the destination for our residents at Ashlynn Grange Care Home in Peterborough too.
Our VIPs enjoyed a lunch of spaghetti bolognese, mushroom risotto with parmesan and pesto with a garlic bread side and a tiramisu! That was after their Italian holiday experience.
Avocet Court Care Home
Over in Ipswich, Avocet Court took their residents to Sin City!
With boarding passes in hand our residents headed to Las Vegas before enjoying a performance from Elvis and getting the chips out at the best casino in town. All the while, the sweet treats were available and the cocktails were flowing!
Goodwins Hall Care Home
Goodwins are off on their armchair travels most months, having visited China, Romania and the Philippines recently. This time though their residents were on their way to sunny Portugal!
Residents took a tour around Mosteiro de Batalha and the fort of the Berlengas before enjoying a delicious Portugese-inspired lunch.
